Locate before you dig: contractor strike at Wodonga

A fencing contractor damaged a 63 millimetre polyethylene main on Wilson Street on 2 September without requesting a locate. Twelve customers lost supply. Every crew leader must remind contractors at induction that a locate request and potholing are mandatory near our assets. Report any excavation you see near a main without markings to the control centre.

Permit holders must record the reading and close the permit on the day. HSE will re-audit Traralgon permits in October.
